About
Counselling at Bloom
About Me
I’m Meg, the counsellor behind Bloom. My work is shaped by a genuine belief that people grow best in environments where they feel safe, respected, and truly heard. I bring a warm, person‑centred approach to every session, creating space for individuals to explore their experiences with compassion and curiosity.
My background spans community services, child development, and allied health, including roles within the Department of Communities and Child Development Services. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the strength and resilience people carry, as well as the importance of culturally safe, trauma‑informed support. Working closely with families, parents, children, and multidisciplinary teams has shaped the way I show up in the therapy room—calm, grounded, and focused on building trust.
I hold a Diploma of Counselling, a Certificate IV in Mental Health, and I’m currently studying my Bachelor of Counselling to continue expanding my knowledge and skills. My therapeutic style draws on Person‑Centred Therapy (PCT), Solution‑Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness‑based strategies. I value approaches that are gentle, practical, and empowering.
Bloom Therapy was created as a space where individuals can reconnect with their strengths, develop meaningful coping skills, and move toward a life that feels more grounded and aligned. It’s a privilege to walk alongside people as they navigate change, heal, and grow in their own time.
Scope of Practice
Bloom Counselling provides support that is safe, ethical, and aligned with the scope of a Diploms Qualified Counsellor. My practice focuses on helping individuals navigate everyday challenges, emotional wellbeing, stress, anxiety, low mood, life transitions, and relationship or family concerns that fall within a general counselling framework. I work from a person‑centred, trauma‑informed foundation and draw on evidence‑based approaches including Person‑Centred Therapy (PCT), Solution‑Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness‑based strategies.
I provide support that is strengths‑based, collaborative, and focused on building resilience and practical coping skills. As an early‑career practitioner, I do not offer specialised or advanced therapeutic interventions such as trauma‑processing therapies (e.g., EMDR), diagnostic assessments, crisis intervention, or treatment for complex mental health conditions that require specialist or clinical care. When a client’s needs fall outside my scope, I will discuss this openly and provide appropriate referrals to ensure they receive the most suitable support.
My commitment is to offer a warm, respectful, and professional counselling experience that honours each person’s safety, autonomy, and wellbeing.
Who I Work With
Bloom Counselling supports individuals who are seeking a safe, compassionate space to explore their wellbeing and navigate life’s challenges. I work with adults and young people who are experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, life transitions, relationship concerns, emotional overwhelm, or a desire to build healthier coping skills. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and grounded in evidence‑based therapies suited to everyday mental health and personal growth.
I work best with individuals who are looking for support in understanding their emotions, strengthening resilience, improving communication, and creating meaningful change in their lives. My practice is suitable for those who benefit from a warm, person‑centred environment and practical, skills‑focused strategies.
When a person’s needs fall outside my scope—such as complex mental health conditions, crisis support, or specialised therapeutic interventions—I will discuss this openly and provide appropriate referrals to ensure they receive the most suitable care.
